The "camel" book is the standard text on Perl isn't it. (link)

Which reminds me, I must get an updated copy. Mine is 10 years old and rather out of date.

The link I supplied is the latest edition of that book (the 3rd I believe). I've got the 2nd edition which is a few years older.

there is another good book ...
Advanced Perl Programming By Simon Cozens
It has a very good chapter on NLP.
(get started with the easy stuff and then move on to harder ones..)
