Java Newbie, Help me to learn programming in Java

Dear Java Experts.

I need your help to learn programing in Java. I have a course in college and it is a challenging course for me because i have no background and information about programing. I do not need you to help me prepare my homeworks, but help me where to start couse i don`t get what i am reading in the book.(if you need the book title let me know).

Why don't you tell us what you're stuck on... we don't have your book so we're not going to be able to look it up, but if you tell us the topic you're stuck on (i.e. arrays, loops, conditionals, variables, classes, etc.) We can help explain them for you...

I have just started recently and i don`t know the terms. Classes and veriables, operators and the first chapters in java. remeber when you learned java, where did you start?
my book is Computing Fundamentals with Java By Rick Mercer ISBN: 1887902473

suppose you are a techaer and i am a student to learn with no information and background, nothing, what would be your first step to tell me?

Try This Site : One Hell Offa Guide And It Helped Me A LOTT Also I wud reccomend you get book called Head First Java, a really great book it is published by O'Reiley
