I will probably be taking a class on programming in COBOL sometime in the near future and would like to get an idea of how it works...I have a couple of websites for tutorials and such, but I need a compiler to try the code on...anyone know of any good COBOL compilers for win32 (preferably that work with Vista 32bit)

Thanks

You can try Fujitsu's Cobol V3 compiler which is free to students (just got to fill in a form to download). It is an old school program and I am not sure how Vista will handle it. It should be fine but you never know.

I have also included a great site for a tutorial on this compiler including how to compile cobol programs etc.

Fujitsu Cobol V3 Compiler Download (fill out form)

Fujitsu Cobol V3 Tutorial Site - Be sure to look at the compiling/linking section

Hope it works for you. Enjoy! smile.gif
