Client Server game programming, TCP

i would like to write a network game programe using client Server communication (TCP).players should play against each other over de network.i do not know were to start .PLS give me a start up description how to program it

Do you want a turn based game, like Chess (or maybe Heroes of Might and Magic) or a synchronized one, like Quake, Unreal Tournament (not necessairly FPS, but I can't think something else right now that is not turn-based and fps)?
The latter is more complicated, and maybe UDP is a better choice instead of TCP.

Sure, there are a couple of folks here who can help you, but you must do your research first, we won't do your homework for you (as implied by the forum rules as well).
Use google to research network coding, come up with a game idea (maybe ask somebody if it fits your skills) and finally implement it. Whenever you come across any problems, feel free to ask us.
So first, what kind of a game do you want to make, since it will define the network protocol you should use - and UDP is not a TCP instant, it's a different protocol on top of IP.
