Hi all,

I have recently done a lot more processing of xml when working with asp.net/c# on some websites. I was wondering if you out there could tell me some situations/functionality where you have used/processed xml and had good results or situations where you have hated using xml, etc. I was just looking for a broad set of opinions on the uses of xml..thanks!

Ive had no problems working with XML, and I use it quite often, whether it be for user information, session information, parsing RSS feeds. Thankfully .Net made working with XML much easier, it used to be quite the bear (in my opinion)

since xml isn't really a language, but a styling, it's uses are endless. Just conform to a set of rules and expand them as necessary and all will be great with the largest of templates and database actions.
I've used xml mostly when dealing in perl, but i see no reason i couldn't use it in php, etc, the occasion has just not come up yet i suppose (or i'm just forgetting, lol)

I've used XML with Perl(only outputting), and with Flash/ActionScript(reading it in), along with the ever-popular Javascript(for Ajax). I have to say that for the most part, I like XML; it makes things easy to read, easy to follow, and easy to add on to if I need to without having to do anything fancy.

With that being said, working with XML in Flash has always bothered me. I'm used to using Javascript, and not having something as handy as getElementsByTagName() really irks me.
