I currently have my permalink structure set to be Date and name based. and I am thinking of starting to use payperpost should I change my link structure to the numeric or default? Should I come up with a custom structure or just leave it alone?

I've heard that the shorter the link structure, the better. Some people do just this
CODE

/%postname%/

So you get "http://www.somewebsite.com/post-title/". Gotta make sure every post has a unique name though...

A better one would be
CODE

/%post_id%/%postname%/

There's some leeway for post names here, and it looks something like "http://www.anotherwebsite.com/200/fantastic-title/"

I've got the same link structure as you, and I'm fine with it right now. Perhaps I could do YYYY/MM/postname or something...

I just had a quick look at your blog (hey you've updated your theme!). A suggestion? You might want to take out the "Meta" section. I've heard it's a sure-fire sign that the blog is new. Not helpful if you're looking to do pay per posts...

Uh, another suggestion? You might want to blend the colours of the AdSense blocks (and its links) with the colours of your theme. This way, the ad blocks look like they're part of your site/posts, and thus more likely to be clicked.

Mine might be a bit overkill, but my links look like this:

All I'm really reading from the url is the postID. The rest is there to make it look a bit nicer / allow the search engines to pick up on it. In my own mind, nothing really beats the unique ID of the entry.

so how would one remove the meta section. I haven't found the listing for it under sidebar.php or page.php Good news is that I am working on correcting the issues addressed in the site check. I am just not that quick.

It's somewhere in the sidebar.php file. Search for "Meta", "wp_register()", "wp_loginout()" and "wp_meta()".

Then take out the entire section. In your case, the "Meta" should be between <h2> tags, and the rest are in <li> tags close by. If you really want the validation links available, you can consider putting them in the footer.

In truth, you're the only author (as of now), so the login link is pretty useless. Even if you get people to contribute to your blog (whether hired or for free), those people can always go directly to the login page. No need to highlight the link on the blog itself.

As for validation... well, my opinion is, advertisers don't generally care about that. They care for traffic (which valid XHTML and CSS help in a more general way). That means more focus on the area above the fold. Putting validation links at the current position takes up valuable screen real estate.

For PayPerPost you do not want the (default) numerical based structure, you can have the date and such in there but you also want it to show the title of the post in the permalink as certain opps will require certain words in the permalink. Also it's more SEO friendly to have the titles in the permalink somewhere.
