Assembaly bootloader to kernal., Newbie Question.

New D.I.C Head Joined: 7 Dec, 2007 Posts: 9 My Contributions	What kind of launguages can a kernel be written in? does it have to be assembaly? can it be C++ or something? Or does the kernal pass control agian to another function?

D.I.C Lover Joined: 12 May, 2005 Posts: 1,104 Thanked: 8 times Expert In: Hardware, Networking My Contributions	The kernels for Linux, *BSD, and Mac OS X (The mach kernel) are all written primarily in C. AFAIK, the Windows 9x kernel was C, and the Windows NT kernel is C and maybe C++.
