So... I have tried both wmp 11 and the zune player, loaded up my libraries, and am sharing them, but my 360 refuses to recognize there are any divx files there.

it picks up the wmvs that are in the same folders but not the divx . any idea? thought the update made it really easy.

I thought 360 will only play WMV formate files. At least when I had my unit that was the only formate I could play movies I downloaded with.

I got rid of my 360 a while back so I have not keep up with the news but I think they kept to only allowing WMV formated files to be played.

yeah the december 4th update included divx and xvid file play abilities, along with other behind the scenes stuff. it supposedly works with all except for mce pc's ... but not for me.

i agree but the 360 wasent al that good. it overheats really easy. even the games, given the right game werent that good. what did you buy it for?.....i have one to lol but i dont play it.

Actually it's an Optional Update.
Try playing a DivX/XviD file and you will be asked to install the update.
It worked for me.

they play fine for me off a disc still.
stupid 360.i'll have to call and talk to mad max on the 360 support line.

worst automated phone system ever.
