Flex and Bison tutorials/suggestions needed

I have to make a flex/bison/C program that will convert amounts of money written as words to digits ("I earn two thousand dollars a month." to "I earn 2000 dollars a month.", etc). Unfortunatly almost all tutorials on the web are dealing with calculators... Also I don't have time to read a whole book, so I would greatly appriciate some brief tuts dealing with my problem.
