Hello in this tutorial I am going to show you on how to create Icy text! This is very easy to do intended for anyone who has Photoshop.

Items Needed:
Adobe Photoshop


1. I assume you have already launched Photoshop if you didn’t do it now! Create canvas (400px x 200px) however the size is not important, now fill it with black color.

2.Now that you’re ready, use your text tool, and type in anything you want I used Icy as text, the font is your choice I used Arial Black at 72pt, again it is up to you , you can use any Font, or any size, up to you. You should have this:

3. Now rasterize the text layer by right clicking the layer and click Rasterize Type:

4. Right click the Icy layer and click Merge down:

5.Goto Filter > Pixelate > Crystallize:

6. Enter 3 as the Cell Size:

7. Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur:
IPB Image

8. Enter 1 pixel and click ok:
IPB Image

9. Now go to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CW:
IPB Image

10. Go to Filter > Stylize > Wind:
IPB Image

11. Make sure From the Right is selected and click ok:

12. Now go to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CCW:
IPB Image

13. Then Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation:
IPB Image

14. Enter Hue: 215 Saturation: 50 Lightness: 0 and make sure Colorize is checked:

If all is done right you should have the following:

Thats a really nice tutorial. I like how it has a lot of pics so u can see what your supposed to be doing.
