Linux Codec, How do I watch movies with out concern for region codes?

[font=Arial]I don't have any code to post. I searched for instructions on how to get DVD play back with Ubuntu Linux and the codec. This site indicated promise solutions up so I joined. Can anyone help?

Do playback dvds you should have several packages. You should probably get something based off xine, as totem doesn't handle menus, if I remember properly. look for a package called "gxine" and mark that for installation. You'll also need the non-free xine libraries. That should be called "libxine-nonfree" or something similar. Next, find and mark "libdvdplay", "libdvdnav", "libdvdread", and "libdvdcss".

If you can't find some of those packages, you will need to expand your repos list. You'll probably need to tell it to get proprietary packages.
