i was thinking of trying it out and can som1 tell me about the gameplay, how to proceed into the game the controls and why should i switch from rs2 when its free ??
I played it once at a friend's house for 3 hours, and I've never touched it since.
Too many people are obsessed with it in my opinion.

Yes why should you switch from RS??
If you like a game, play it. If you don't like it, don't play it. It's as simple as that.
You've got me beat by about 3 hours... I watched the episode of South Park "Make Love Not Warcraft" & that's about the most interaction that I've had with it.
I've tried a bunch of MMORPGs (SW:G, EQ, EQ2, FFXI, RuneScape), and I wasn't impressed by any of them (RuneScape in fact makes me want to kill myself, it's that bad). I like the world (the mythos and backstory) that WoW is set in, I like the game mechanics, and I like the way that Blizzard has set the game up to be played. There's a 10 day trial on Blizzard's website if you want to try it.
I would recommend downloading, installing, and downloading the latest patches before you sign up for a trial account... Then you'll get the most play time.
And yes, I realize that's the link to the classic WoW game, not the Burning Crusade expansion. Considering how far the average player is going to get in 10 days, there's no point to worrying about BC right now.
I played DoTA in W3, and thats the only reason I bought W3. Im not really a fan of MMORPG, but would really like to try WoW.(due to reputation of Blizzard) Can someone tell me what make WoW different from other game of same type?

Why don't you try a trial account (as they're free), and then make your own decision, instead of making a decision based upon someone else's opinion of the game?

I personally would rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than play that damn game. I refuse to buy a game, then have to pay each and every month to play the dam thing. F**k Blizzard, just my 2¢
I could understand if the game was free, but you had to pay to play, but nooooo, first you have to buy the game which is full price, then you have to pay for each month. On top of that you also have to pay for the substantially more expensive electric bill, the maid service to clean up your house because you're too busy playing WoW to do it, and the rehab later in your life.
World of Warcraft is *easily* worth the $15/month. Show me a game of similar quality that's free. And yes, I've played Guild Wars. I was not impressed.

I mean the cost of the disk/cd. I can understand the cost to play each month, with the number of servers they host just the electricity bill justifies the $15 a month charge. I'm just suggesting that it might be better for business if they offered the game free for download. $15 dollars to try a game for a month is much more reasonable than $40 plus the $15 fee.
Honestly I'm not all that into MMORPG's. I used to play PSO a little bit, but that's about it.
I said I would never pay monthly to play, but I was curious and got the $2 trial from the counter of my video store. From that point I was hooked for about 9 months. Finally I quit to use the money elsewhere and I have been trying every free trial I can. City of Hero's is close to WoW but still not the same.
The game mechanics are awesome as are the graphics. I think it is the community that gets you hooked or it was for me. Then comes the drama and that helped in my decision.

Honestly it's fun for the amount of time I've played which wasn't much, however in the long run it simply takes too much time to invest in. If you have a disgusting amount of free time I'd say go for it, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
I said this on another post about WOW. The game is addictive for some people, I know it was for me. I used to play about 8hrs a day. The game is really good but in the long term, you are wasting time and money.
