hi. i am a making a template for a website and have a problem with the width of a div. here's the link http://jon1001.awardspace.com

the problem doesn't occur in ie6 but as far i know, it does in all others. if you resize the browser window so that it's thinner than the min-width, i.e. you can scroll horizontally, the bar at the top containing the links stretches the width of the window instead of the width of the page. so when you scroll across, it is cut off. I have tried changing the width of the div to 100% and to 'auto' but no difference.

if you have any idea how to fix it I would be very grateful. thanks.

Don't worry, I just worked out how to do it. I just put a min-width in. Can't believe I didn't think of that! Thanks anyway.

You just used a min-width? Test it out in IE. In my experience MSIE has not responded to min / max widths

IE6 and below don't like min-whatever, but instead IE6 treats height and width as if they were min- anyway, so you just have to declare the width first, then hide the min rule from IE6.
