Put your question in the Software Development forum. That forum covers anything that is not language specific.

In fact, allow me to move it over there for you.

Well considering you know VB.NET you might as well pick up C#, or ASP.NET

As the saying goes...
Once you develop in .NET - You say oh sh!t proprietary language and get to recode all over again.

Happy Coding!

ASP is a server side language, that pretty much only runs on Microsoft's IIS. sad.gif

What do you plan on using the programming knowledge for?
Web-design(try http, CSS, javascript)
Databasing(mySql, PHP, many of the ms servers,)
Accurate Calculations or if u program calculators(Fortran)
Or try Python(pretty simple), Pearl, Ruby, H, F, J. or just start with OOP and do C# or Java(ms vs. Sun but same language)

There's a couple of good ASP-on-Apache/Windows software packages. And apparently they run on Mono pretty well too.

Well, if you "know VB.Net" then you should be ready to use it... Have you written any DirectX programs yet? Do you know about processing XML? Can you embed a browser in your applications? Do you know how to write a webservice?

I can program in a bunch of languages but I can get by in just 1 because there is ALWAYS something else to learn. Let me tell you employers will be more impressed with a long list of projects that you have worked on more than a long list of languages you dabble in.

The whole point of learning a computer language is to gain a tool to help you solve problems and DO things.
