You might want to have a read over PHP.net

It's managed by the people whom wrote PHP, & it offers lots of tips & insight.

As well, be sure to check out the Tutorials & Snippets here at Dream In Code.

Best of luck to you!

Pick up a book on PHP, I've found "Programming PHP" (O' Reilly) extremely useful. It's co-authored by the guy who started the PHP project!

There's also plenty of sites out there offering beginners guides, including this one! Be sure to check out the tutorials here.

I learned PHP in school with the Visual Quick Start Series. Those were really good. I bought the other 2 just because of the information value.

My school doesn't offer PHP. They offer "web page design"; where you learn how to use a WYSIWYG editor, "principles of web design", which is basically the obvious steps, and about half a dozen HTML tags.

But no programming courses --- CSS, PHP, C, nothing.

This was at a University. If you go to University and they don't offer those types of classes, it is time to transfer.

I would have to concur, if they don't offer any programming classes I would have already been gone

Nothing like learning on the job wink2.gif. I'm currently learning PHP and MySQL at the moment. If you're interested in someone to help chomp through some code, let me know smile.gif. Also, I am building a website that will be used to help organize raiding for a WoW guild (we all have our sad little addictions...honestly...liked Asheron's Call better). This is going to be a fairly simplistic site...but hey, push yourself and come up with new projects that seem simple. They rarely are, and if they are, then add in something that makes you swear like a sailor.

Why did you quote yourself?

spastic moment (just wasn't looking when I posted)...what you really need to worry about is when I start using myself in the third person.

Hmmm...a history teacher who speaks to themselves as if in the third person might be interesting...
a math teacher who does this is just eccentric...
now a science teacher who does that...look for the lightning rods and fresh human body parts...
