I need some opinions here, well actually some advice. I'm wanting to set up source control on the web application I'm working on/converting from classic ASP. I have Visual SourceSafe 2005 but to be honest its really quite the pain in the ass to set up, especially remotely. Anyone know of another source control software that will work with a Windows server, that isn't a real pain to set up?

My webhost provides us with a one click install of Subversion.

We use Changeman DS at work, but we are moving away from it since Serena is discontinuing support for it.

I would second that.

I've used several source control from CVS, to TFS and prefer Subversion.
I actually have my on subversion server on my home server that I can access
from anywhere over http.

However, I've never set it up on a windows server. I've only ever used a tortoisesvn client on windows.
I don't imagine it being all that difficult though. My svn server runs on Ubuntu.

Subversion is great, but it's mostly command line for Windows IIRC (I've never installed it on Windows myself). As mentioned, TortoiseSVN is the GUI version - it integrates quite well with Windows explorer.

We use VisualSVN Server and TortoiseSVN here at work to do our Subversion stuff - apparently VisualSVN also has a plugin you can get for Visual Studio that will let you integrate subversion right into it. I'll (third?) also recommend Subversion.

I've used subversion for awhile and like it.

The command line tool is easy to use, but any decent IDE will have a subversion plugin for those of you who don't like typing.
