Just started a new little website a few days ago:

http://www.wallofjunk.com

The idea of the website is that everyone can upload pictures to the front page, and in doing so, you replace an existing picture. Hopefuly it will have a bunch of funny/interesting images and new stuff every day, once I get some more visitors

I kept the design very simple to save bandwidth and to keep the focus on the pictures.

I'd love to know if everything works allright, layout/uploading/bugs? I've tested it in most browsers, but you never know.
thanks!

I like that. It's also an interesting concept. I'm not sure if you're doing this already, but make sure you approve the pictures yourself, lest a mischievous person uploads something inappropriate.

Three suggestions:

1) Center the wall of junk. Right now it's off center, a bit to the left. I think it would look better centered.

2) On the "FAQ" page and the "Upload" page, try extending the brick pattern all the way to the bottom of the screen. Right now it cuts off to black / white, which I find unattractive. You could probably accomplish this by just putting a bunch of <br />'s in that div.

3) Make it easier to upload. Right now I have to click on a picture to upload my own. Nah, I'd rather that the "upload to the wall" link has the form right on that page.

And also, make multiple walls! Supposing pictures get bumped off of the "main wall", what's viewed on the front page, they should go to the "secondary wall" or the "tertiary wall", whose links are on the bottom of the page. That's not really a design tip though, more of a site structure thing. Purely up to you.

Additionally, it may be a good idea to accept PNG images.

Regardless, it's a very nice site with a cool premise.

interesting and fun concept

my suggestion would be ip filtering / limiting, anything is fine as long as there is one,
like one ip can only upload one per minute, or 5 per day, or 1 per hour, or 5 per hour.

anything will do, because once a spammer finds your site, it will start to suck hard!

hope your site succeeds smile.gif
