Well I bought $550 worth of parts a few months ago and slapped them together into a computer and today i decided to finally install vista thanks to psychocoder. He didn't really force me, but reminded me about a wi-fi card that worked with vista I had forgot about. That was the reason I had never switched before, I couldn't get internet. Well I just installed Vista ultimate and for some reason it takes about 5-10 minutes to start, but I really don't care, this computer hardly ever goes off. Well I looked up my system rating and I got a 5.3. Well I asked my neighbor who has a newer comp than me and paid $1500+ and he only gets a 3.2. Well as you can see, he wasted his money on a computer when he got it seeing as the thing can hardly play Quake 4 on medium. Well, I was just wondering, for those of you with Vista, whats your system rating?
Meh. You could look at it that way. I'm just in need of a new computer, at some point, and am being told by all my friends building it is the way to go.
There are different aspects to graphics GWatt. I get a lower gaming graphics, thats why i only get a 5.3, and not a 5.8. I think it depends on your core clock(s), memory clocks, and certain other specs.
I sure hope someone can help me understand this, as Im baffled;
I upgraded to the NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT 1GB card, but noticed a somewhat slower response time than my 8800GTS, Ive read from a few people on gaming forums that they thought the 8800GTS had better performance than the 9600GT, so I can now verify that it is true (for some strange reason). I decided to put my 8800GTS back in, and it actually raised my Vista Rating Index.
Does anyone know why:
The 8800GTS performs better than the 9600GT?
The 8800GTS gives me a better index than the 9600GT?
