What would be the best way to go about writing a program for a touch-screen? I would also want the program to measure how long it takes for the end user to respond. Any ideas?

There was a thread about this a while ago. It was concluded that it is no different then writing a regular program since the touch is considered the equivalent of a mouse click and the program is programmed as such.

Generally when you want to ask "how do I program for (fill in some piece of hardware here)?" the answer begins, "Well go to the manufacturer or standards community and download the API..."

For example my Wacom tablet has a nice little API which actually allows you to do some pretty neat things.

touch screen provides the same inputs as a mouse or any other pointer, so just proram as if it was a mouse.
