Hey fellow DIC members. I really need ur help.
I've noticed that two files have mysteriously appeared on my usb drive. "SETUP.EXE and AUTORUN.INF".
Whenever i try to delete them they reappear. I've run a scan of usb drive with my anti-virus program and it picked up "setup.exe" as a virus and deleted it, but it still reappears:crazy:!!
Please any help will be accepted, please.

What antivirus are you using? it obviously isn't doing it's job well. Is it updated with the most recent definitions?

You should download Process explorer. It will give you a way better look at what's running that the windows task manager.

Download link is at the bottom.

Feel free to post a screenshot up here of the processes list.

Usually things like viruses and such aren't labeled with a Description or Company Name, So to start off you might want to kill any processes like that, and then run your scanner again on the whole computer.

One thing you might also want to try (if possible) is just re-formatting the USB drive - that should remove any files that were on it previously.

You mean clicking on that link doesn't download anything? Or that when you scroll down that page and click "Download", it doesn't do anything?

Reformatting the drive might work, but it's possible that it's a virus that is copying itself onto the drive from your computer in order to try and spread.

keep the autorun.inf file on the udb drive and just edit the code in notepad or something so that it doesnt run whenever you plug it in.

Depending on your the brand of USB Drive some come with built in GUI interfaces that act as micro OS. You can save files on it, create a calendar, even run Open Office and Firefox off of it. Depending on the anti virus software you have some may detect this small program as a virus since one you plug it in your computer it wants to run. But like everyone else said, if you want to remove it just reformat the USB Drive.

Try AVG, and put it on your flashdrive. Then it should sweep just your flashdrive. AVG is free or you can pay and make it kick all ass. The free one kicks Symantec AntiVirus, Norton AntiVirus, and Webroot Spysweeper's ass any day. I know Webroot Spysweeper gets rid of spyware but if you pay a lot of money it sweeps for viruses as well.

Try Spysweeper and AVG. That is what I use at home.

Symatec is the company that makes Norton. Score negative one point for being a raving fanboy.
