Scala is a statically typed, extensible, multi-paradigm language, offering object-oriented and functional support. This release includes: the removal of the contractiveness requirement for implicit methods, regular expression parsers, the addition of 'requires' and 'ensuring' methods to Predef.scala, bug fixes, and other changes.
