I have a question for you guys, and gals. My 9 year old grandson wants a game for his PC. I asked him what he wants and he said "Suprize me"... What are the coolest games on the market now, and what about them makes them so cool? He's into ALL types of games.

I dunno, if you want a violent grandson, your best bet is CS:S, BF2, I am only in expert in FPS games, can't help you out much, most popular is CRYSIS and CoD 4.

That's kind of why I asked what makes them so cool... I can skip right over the ones that talk about blood, and guts, and rapin' da ho's....
9 yr old grandson = sims games, my 7 yr old plays Club Penguin alot. Theme park or roller coaster tycoon or zoo tycoon those games are all fun and clean.

His last game was grand something or other III... He liked that. All I can tell you is he was running people over with a car.

if the game you are talking about is Grand Theft Auto III then your grandson is already playing the games 'about blood, and guts, and rapin' da ho's....' so ya know, just buy him whatever then.
Buy him a Webkinz. Learn how to farm imaginary money in a perky, annoying, happy world. That's what I did with for my kids. Yup, I loves me some Webkinz. I love showing my face to the world disguised as a pink poodle in a ballerina costume. Seriously though, speaking from the adult perspective, gouging your eyeballs out with a broken, dirty, plastic spork would be more entertaining than Webkinz, but the kids love it... and there be no ho's.

hmmmm... if he's already played Grand Theft Auto III, you don't really have much to worry about
I'd recommend Assassin's Creed, or, failing that, Gothic I, II or III are really cool free roaming RPGs - the first one's really old but I really don't think it can be beaten, at least by a PC game anyway. Or, if he's got a really good PC, I'd recommend Elder Scrolls: Oblivion or Fable.
I play a lot of console games, but I can only really recommend RPGs on the PC
I play OTTD. Fits on my flash drive and is open source. Free on the internet. It's basically Sim City. If he really play GTA 3 then try Halo 2 or Gears of War. WOW is ok if you like to pay to play online. Diablo is free to play online But is M. Rappelez is a free download that I play. It is like WOW with all the poeple that play it. You can raise animals and things to fight with you. I do not know about graphics, but I no longer worry about them because my computer can play Crysis.
