I am a beginner programmer. I have been writing a few programs for my school just because I have nothing better to do with my time. The problem is, my school uses OS X and I do not have a mac (The OSx86 project is out of the question, so please do not suggest it) I would prefer to use some sort of BASIC language, but if needed, I will use C++ IF IT HAS AN EASY-TO-USE GUI. I would like to keep this to as low cost as possible. I am currently using KBasic (http://kbasic.com/doku.php) I am however, at a stand-still with that due to a compiling error, and I would like to do all of the compiling from my windows computer.

Any suggestions?

As I understand, a lot of development on the Mac is done with Objective-C and Cocoa. The GCC compiler has an objective-c mode, and it has ports on nearly every modern platform.

Have you considered virtualization? I'm not sure how you'd run a Cocoa app on anything other than OS X....

Edit: If you're going for a cross-platform solution, why not use Java? That would likely be the simplest.

I have a question about this though, if I develop it in objC will it actually compile a .app file, or since I am on windows, will it make a .exe file?
