I've been thinking of writing up a nice easy 2d game when I eventually get back to work on the Dagger 3d engine.

My plan is to have a camera that only moves on two axis, along with flat textured meshes (oriented with the broad side facing the camera) serving as "sprites". This would let me reuse most of my existing 3d code (except for probably lighting).

Thoughts/comments?

Probably a bunch of connected points so I could do some kind of landscape deformation.

Having "dirt" would work too, but I'm not sure how I would implement that yet..
