I feel like this should probably be in Computer Support.

What do you mean by flashed your CPU?
How far into the boot process are you getting?
Are you getting any message about the harddrive
Does the drive show up in the BIOS drive list?

What you'll need to do is go to the website of the manufacturer for this motherboard, & download the newest flash image. They should have steps on how to install it. & it's important to understand that it isn't Windows that cant' read the HDD, you've removed the instruction code that your mother board uses to power on, look for devices, & load devices before booting the Operating System.

Usually a motherboard flash must be completed in one step, you boot the current flash, & with it booted, you flash it, & install the new instruction code. Then it can start the new flash when it restarts. However if you interrupt this process, chances are it doesn't have the ability to get to the point where you can install the new instruction code.

Best of luck zero cool. You might want to contact customer service (of the motherboard production company for this board) for further assistance, it might be bricked.

I'm thinking that he flashed the motherboard bios. Which would make the answer to your second question... kerput!

Yeah, that's what I was assuming too, but then he mentioned BIOS later and I then wasn't sure.

The two most basic questions then, does it light up when you poke the button and have you tried turning it off and on again? biggrin.gif

Or you could just reset your motherboard. Either pull out the battery for 30 seconds or use a jumper if you motherboard has a jumper reset. Any BIOS modifications will be gone, but I don't think you did any.

After rereading the post (and seeing the edit) I have a feeling that you tried to overclock your processor with software from the motherboard manufacturer. Bad idea. You'll have to either reset your BIOS or flash an updated one. Either way, it'll put your settings back to stock and you won't have the bad overclock anymore. You'll probably have more luck with the reset.
