Yes you can run a dual boot with Vista & Linux. Here is a link I got from NYKC for doing just this.

What are you asking about?

There are many boot loaders you can choose from. Lilo & Grub are the two more popular ones for Linux. There are a few tutorials available on this site for setting up a dual boot system.
