OK, well I find it pretty hard to find example assignments online, and people who teach themselves to program often lack challenges.

So, if anyone knows some good programming challenge websites, or if any students have got the time to offer us their assignments as examples, post them up here. And don't forget to specify the language!

I'll keep an eye on this post and edit it regularly to sort all your projects by category (and link to your post or upload)

The Programming Challenges book is really good. Almost any algorithms book, from CLRS to Knuth has exercises in each capter.

wow, manzoor...I would have to get out the dictionary to understand what some of those questions are saying.
Challenging, yes. smile.gif

Here's one assignment I haven't attempted yet, since it was optional and I ran out of time.

Create a deck of 52 cards (using textboxes I think) and when the user clicks a button, randomize them.

Use the char map to get the card symbols.

We used C# (windows application) but you probably could use other languages.

You did mean to post the assignment as a challenge to anyone wanting to learn...right? Or did you want the code?
