Hey everyone, I just registered at freehostia and am a bit overwhelmed by all the options at the control panel. Basically I am trying to figure out where I upload my PHP or HTML files to so I can access them on my website. Also, I didn't register with my own domain, I am using a .freehostia.com domain name, yet when I type my domain into my browser it tells me the page doesn't exist. Anyway, if anyone can help out at all it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey, so i use freehostia a lot and i find the easiest way to put my files on is if you click on the file manager and then upload to the server through that, you can use ftp but i wouldnt bother unless you are uploading a lot of files.

are you putting www. infront of it, as it is a subdomain all you need to put is http://*your subdomain name*.freehostia.com do not put in the www. as it then wont work.

Ahhh, that's what it was. Thanks so much for the help.

Just a quick question, I haven't been able to find a simple definition of MySQL and what it's purpose is, would anyone mind giving me a quick definition? Thanks.

In even more basic terms, MySQL is a free database solution for developing web applications. If you want to learn a lot about it I would start at www.tizag.com. That's where I learned the basics.
