Where could I find some sample code for sending text messages via a web page?

I've tried searching for it but I'm either blind to it or I'm not using the correct words.

Well, technically as far as I know, to send a text message, you are really sending an email. I know for verizon you just send it to YOUR10DIGITNUM@vtext.com

so 8036667788@vtext.com would send to the phone with an email of 8036667788 on the verizon network. I am not sure if there is a way to auto detect what network a number is on.

I'm sure there are more intelligent ways of doing this, but that's the only way I know. Someone will enlighten us I'm sure.

(Each network should have an extension to do a similar action)
