Does anyone still play Nethack?

I've gotten hooked on playing Nethack over my lunch break - whether that's by telnetting to nethack.alt.org, or playing the tiled version I've installed on this box. Sadly, I'm starting to get better at it - I can consistently get to Minetown, although right now my goal is to get Excalibur. I die a lot, though. Does anyone else still play this game? Has anyone ever managed an ascension?
