Hi Charity, welcome to dream.in.code.

You've actually posted this in the "Ruby" forum. Our general discussion forum is the "Caffeine Lounge" I'm going to move this thread there.

However, I think it's pretty clear cut that Obama is gonna get the nod today and hilary is gonna drop out by the end of the week.

It is a big election day though (at least in Albuquerque) we are voting in the primary for 3 congress people and a senator today. Biggest change in politics the state has ever seen.

Hopefully neither will win the general election. Obama will get the Dem nomination though.

Agreed Obama should have the Dem vote locked. But as for general election I hope Obama is the bigger man and drops out as well.

Who's going to tell Clinton that? Surely none of her people are. She's clearly not going to stop until it's officially over. After that, she'll probably have to be tranked and taken away for a long rest.

On a side note, ever notice that Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who's first name is always used. It's a curious kind of snub, if you think about it.

I think it is pretty much a given that Obama will win the Dem spot, though I hope a Republican is president again; hate to think what could happen if we pull out of the war at this point... Can you say genocide?

I'm watching the live coverage of the Obama rally at our Xcel Energy Center, he's slated to announce his victory for democratic candidacy tonight.

The Xcel is packed with 30,000 people, another 20,000 outside on the streets of downtown, it's insane.

Interesting.
And I stayed away from this topic because I thought I was in the minority around here.

I don't like any of the Presidential candidates this time, but I do think it would be foolish (maybe?) to withdraw from the war at this point.

Having a teenage son does change a mother's mind about war, though. Would you/could you sacrifice your son for it? Selfish me, I could not.

Well i don't think there is a need to sacrifice anyone.. just change the rules of engagement... stop sending troops in to "avoid civilian casualties" that's not worth the soldiers lives. Just bomb them from the air, there is no risk to their lives that way. And you know what, those "civilians" aren't necessary that innocent anyway, the fact that they were unarmed at the moment doesn't mean they weren't helping terrorists, or killing Americans earlier that day. With good intelligence, and air strikes, a lot of lives can be saved.

But yeah i can see where you are coming from. And i think alot of people would agree with you. But it's not the parents choice but soldiers choice to join anyway.

Back to the topic, i hope Barak Hussien Obama (wow how can you even consider someone with that name to be president), will not win for the sake of us all. I mean you took down one Hussien already lol. But honostly, look at his supporters, and he's shadowy connection with some terrorist supporter group. His supporters include one of the biggest idiots in politics: Jimmy Carter, just watch the stuff he says, and compare it to what Obama says. Lets talk to Iran :S, brillant, how come no one thought of that before? oh actually they did, in 1938, but it was Hitler... a bunch of geniuses.. right. Remeber the old saying, "tell me who your friends are, and i will tell you who you are".
