While I remain a staunch advocate of the PC market, there are a few things you have to truly be in awe of when it comes to apple, and one of those things is the craziness, the insanity, the outright ridiculousness of the new product launch.
The fact that there are certain dates every year where people start lining up outside apple stores not even sure if a new product is coming out, but standing in line, cueing up for a new product, that they don't even know the specs on is downright amazing.
Apple has built itself THE brand of all brands and in no other place is it on display better than WWDC.
Every gadget website on the web has live coverage, I especially love how apple has to prepare for it by taking all their online shops down worldwide, and then everyone on the planet knows why those sites are down.
How MSNBC devotes half a day of financial coverage to APPLE and all of that jazz.
It really is spectacular. So, fill this thread with your rants, reviews and what have you about WWDC.
First up :
The death of .mac and replacement with Mobile Me. .mac was a good idea horribly horribly executed, a very rare misfire for apple so it should be interesting to see if this works out much better, I assume it will, and hopefully be a nice addition to the mac users' catalog of useful things.
be a man. unlock it. i'm sure there is a jailbreak for the 3g iphone in a week.
one negative for apple, so much built up pressure for them and thought going into what they announce, they cant really exceed expectations.
the ipod was probably the last one, because the engadgets and gizmodos weren't nearly as developed, where now its big business thinking what apple might have up its sleeve....
so the fact the new iphone doesn't have a front-facing camera for video conferencing is a downer for many, even though most of the info coming from cupertino said that it wasn't.... it was still being perused as a possible 'and one more thing .... ' by steve jobs...
The IPhone is definitely one of the most advanced Phones out there. To me, An IPhone isn't just a phone, it's more like an underpowered laptop, however it's still very expensive.
My IPod has got to be the best device I have, next to my computer of course. There's not a day that goes b when I don't listen to it, Especially on the way to and from school (30 + minute drive).
saw some real sexy shots of it on engadget the other day. practically a black iphone with extra outside buttons (a great thing) and the new bb ui. could be sick.
I'm not a big fan of the iPhone, mostly cause I realize that if I got one I would be happy for about 2 weeks before I realized I hated doing everything "Apple's way" and would want a lot more control (see: jailbreaking), and that's weak. I do however, love them as a market catalyst.
I hate Apple, plain and simple, and nothing they can ever produce will ever change my mind. I have a Zune, my wife has an iPod and she likes my Zune more than her iPod lol.
