Hello,
I work for a smallish company that currently employs Me. We are breaking off from a larger company. All programming was done in VB.net on 2.0. I am sure I am missing something but what would stop me, from a technological standpoint, from developing in 3.5 going forward? 2.0 apps should work fine on the 3.5 framework, correct? Is it a big deal to install the 3.5 framework in an environment that currently only uses 2.0? I feel I must be missing something as this seems to simple.
As a flip to this, if it is not feasible to have 3.5 deployed so that I may develop in that while still allowing 2.0 to run then, in your opinion, is there any worth to me studying 2.0 development specifically or should I still study the 3.5 with the grain of salt that somethings will be different for the time being.
Again, just looking for some opinions from those in the know. I understand that none of you can know the in's and out's of my work environment so I will take all of these under that premise.
I guess the question behind the question, for simplicities sake, is should I buy a asp 3.5 or 2.0 book to ramp myself up to speed?
Thanks in advance!
