Hi people,

I`m using a OLEDB connection in dreamweaver to connect to my MS SQL database ....the connection etc works fine.
But... I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem.

First of all.. are there any implications with accessing a MS SQL database via MS ACCESS (if not how can i connect)??
and also I've tried using other applications to connect..... I can establish a connection but the database draws a blank
i.e. I connect but nothing shows up ???

Any ideas ???? Tips ....help

Thanx

-Mike

I'm not sure you are able to connect to MS SQL from MS ACCESS - They are both databases. You will want to connect from your application to either a SQL database or an Access database.

To get something to show up you need to use a SELECT statement to pull data out of the database table.
Something like SELECT * FROM yourTableName
Post your SELECT statement if you are doing this so someone can help.

Accessing MS SQL via MS Access is not seems to be very feasible. If you explain why you want access MS SQL via MS Access, we may be able to suggest some other work around for that.

Ofcourse you had the wrong database connection string.
Doesnt mean it makes sense to use access to connect to sqlserver.
The sqlserver management tools that come with it you can also install by itself. Why not use that?
