Actually that's not true. It's not that people on here are tough on new people learning programming concepts or particular languages. On the contrary, we actually encourage that people try to break into this field. The problem comes when people post to the board expecting somebody to do their work for them. Sure, I'll write your code for you, but you'll have to hire me as a freelancer and pay me my rate. Nobody is going to write your code for you, and you're never going to learn if you don't write your own.
That is why we're so hard on people. We get tough on the people who are posting to this forum with no desire to learn. They just want an instant answer without understanding why it's that way. They don't want to do the work themselves. Most of us have put in a lot of hours neglecting our lives and significant others to learn this trade, and we don't typically care for people who come in and try to reduce their amount of work.
