I was curious what everybody uses to test their PHP application's scalability. I'm going to be working on a personal project pretty soon, and wanted to make sure it'll scale properly. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

That's what I'm asking, what tools does everybody use? I'm trying to figure out the best possible and I wanted to see everyone's opinion.

Well first you need either 2 computers. Or 1 super computer.
On one of your computers you if you have 2 like me biggrin.gif you will put XAMPP if your Windows or LAMP if your Linux. Or just install them on your "Super computer"
Tools:
  • NotePad ++ (used to write in many languages and very colourful! )
  • FireFox
    Or...
  • Internet Explorer ( I really hate its rendering in IE 8 )

And thats all it is too it biggrin.gif

I'm not quite sure you completely understood what I was asking. What I'm asking is how to test scalability. i.e., testing the site under strenuous conditions. This would include thousands of users on the website at once, crazy amounts of database calls, etc. I'm sure there's no free way to do this, I'm just wondering what the industry standard is.

I'm mostly interested in what those of you who have experience with scalability have to say about the issue. Thanks all.

I don't have experience in performance and scalability in PHP mostly because I write PHP code
on rare occasions, but here is something I found on my HDD to read about.
