So what music/media player do you guys use or like? Currently I've only been using Rhythmbox since Amarok won't work for me (running Fedora 9 x86_64) so I never had a chance to give it a spin. I like Rhythmbox because of its simple interface, Lyrics and cover art plugins which automagically fetch lyrics and cover art from the web, and the fact that it connects with my iPod. (notice I didn't say syncs with my iPod...because it cant do anything besides add or delete songs off my iPod, and all that has to be done by hand, sigh...)

I have to mention that I absolutely abhor Totem Player. Gnome MPlayer and Rhythmbox and Amarok can play just about any format I throw at it without complaints....yet Totem has to bitch about every single thing! It refuses to play any proprietary or non-free format unless you shell out $20+ for each codec! And besides that it decides to take over firefox and becomes my default player for everything so that it tries to play embedded objects and mpegs/mov/etc...which of course wont run because I refuse to pay money for codecs. Anyhow, I just got fed up with its bullshit and removed it. Forcefully.

What about you? smile.gif

Give Exaile a try if you want what is essentially a GTK version of Amarok. smile.gif

Mplayer for most things. Rhythmbox for music.

I really like MPD (the music player daemon), but there aren't very many good clients for it.

Edit: I use Totem for video playlists. It's not bad, you just need a (not crippled) version of it.
