iv jus been assigned 2 a new department.... need 2 learn python for writing config files.... where do i strart... an wat r gud books for python...

Dive into python is one of the best books out there for learning. Core Python programming is also a good reference book to keep around. The Python Cookbook has a lot of little gems to help with the tough problems.
