Alright I don't want to call out any specific users 'cause that's not my style. This is intended primarily to catch your attention skyhawk. I for one appreciate the fact that you and your staff try hard to motivate people to interact with the site and reward them for doing so. Commendable, however, before the whole getting stuff for kudos rewards I recall there being a lot more QUALITY snippets of code on the site (in spite of the fact that there were less). Now it seems some snippets of code are basically just the declaration of a function which returns the value of an already available function (I'm not making that up, there are examples of that in the snippets). To say a top contributor is simply a top contributor because he just has the highest numerical value of junk is a sad endeavor, even to be included in any sort of drawings is laughable.

I don't want it to sound like I'm whining as I've never made use of any snippets provided here. The decline in their quality though has come to my attention, so I'm bringing it to yours. I know there's a Report Snippet button, but reporting something sounds more for spam then just for semi-useless code.

Isn't that what the rate this snippet is for. Maybe a diggit style rating system would discourage the practice.

I'd appreciate the feedback in the comment section if you found any snippets of mine useless. Especially if the comment is constructive and not just a flame.

Definitely use the "Report a Snippet" feature as it alerts the entire team and creates a thread for discussion in our team forum. That's for the feedback!

I agree that has to be a standard level of quality for snippets. I've had snippets and tutorials turned down, and I have to complement the team on that when they do they provide a reason.

My view of the snippets is that I view them as example of how to achieve something, how the grammar/syntax of a function or subroutine works.
If this is through the provision of a function so be it.

It can be difficult to find that one function provided natively by one of the many namespaces.

I hope that the snippets and tutorials that I've supplied to </Dream.In.Code> met this standard and are informative.
If you feel otherwise please leave comments, I do read them and modify (if needed) the snippet or tutorial.

Your comments help me to become a better quality contributer which in turn makes </Dream.In.Code> a quality site to visit for your programming needs.
