How do i get license to develop software in VB6

I would like to start my own software development firm, can anybody guide me whether any license is required to develop the software, i am planning to develop vb6/ms-sql based applications, if license required how do i get it ?

You don't need a license.

Though *I think* if you want to use Visual Studio to develop commercial applications, you have to pay for the professional edition.

Could be wrong though.

Hmmm, where to move this to? You want VB, but it's not really a VB specific question.

To release software developed in VB6, although VB6 is no longer supported, you still need a Visual Studio License. What we had to do was buy a Visual Studio license at 2003 level (cheapest) then contact Micrososft to get help applying it to VB6
