maybe this is a stupid question bus is there a way do use ftp in console or do i need a extra library for this if yes can someone post one

You can use FTP with a batch file, that will be much easier, But if you want to do it in C++ all i know of are system() calls, wich is a bad habbit

I made a sort of automated ftp client using Winsock - it was somewhat complicated and never really managed to sort out of the file transfers...can post teh codez if you want.

Ya, you can make your own. but not only is it going to be complicated, but only the people that you give it to will be allowed to recieve the file from your client....Great for an interior network though...

(theres like 6 computers on my network, so i made one with an address book so it worked out great!!)

What I did was made it so that you supplied the server address and port as arguments to the exe, then you could pass the ftp commands directly through the prog to the server.

I might get round to posting it as a snippet this weekend to demonstrate the basic use of winsock - unless one already exists...otherwise, I would prefer it if you could show some sort of attempt teh codez...
