I would love to get it then, but I am not sure that I will. I am hoping to have Fable 2 by this weekend (though I won't be able to play it...) and then I will be getting Banjo Kazooiee (or however you spell it) on the 11th. << Had the games when I was a lot younger and loved them, so I will see if they are as good as I remember or not smile.gif

Gears 2 looks awesome, don't get me wrong, but my parents are a little odd about things, and something tells me I will probably wind up having to wait until Christmas for them to let me get/have it.

OMFG I have to jack my own thread. I was playing Halo 3 w/ my son & his 9 year old cousing and we pwned these guys so bad. I had 34 kills w/ Rampage on warthog. They were so pissed one guy quit and the other guys called us cheap losers. ROFLMAO. I think his my sons cousin (ex's side) went around tea bagging our kills to add insult to injury. Normally I don't condone that behavior except after the abuse I took last night, someone had to pay.

Ok back to topic, that sucks to hear about Gears -

i know i'll be picking it up soon around launch, i actually got to play it today on campus and it was a ton of fun, they actually fixed matchmaking and have halo 3 style lobbies. i didn't get to see a lot of the new executions because they only had it set to play wingman, and wingman sucks.

I saw a trailer on tv while I was watching sons of anarchy. Those are cinematics right? If what I saw was gameplay....damn xbox 360 is better then most PCs I've seen. That can't be right can it?

Im getting the game at launch, this game has so many great features for it im already way too excited. I probably play the game all night and go to school with zero sleep. Everything is enhanced in the gameplay. There are new weapons, new badies, an updated version of the unreal engine(same engine as in the original, the updated version has things like analysis off stresses and strains in materials during explosions, meaning concrete will blow to pieces leaving re-bar showing underneath). I really hope the game will live up to the hype it has been building. Looks to be the best game of the year, by far in my opinion.

The gameplay graphics and the cinematography graphics are very nearly the same.

ill def be getting gears on day 1. if they have a midnight launch for it at gamestop, ill prob even go to that. even if i work the next morning. i have no idea if they are doing that though. but i am incredibly pumped for gears 2. gears 1 was hands down my fav game on the 360, so i am so looking forward to finishing the fight....o wait, wrong....game...... o well.

I can't take this anticipation. My car broke down Wednesday and the first thought that ran through my mind was Fuck! I'm not getting gears. Luckily I got a credit line to cover the costs.

the commercial is CGI, but they use the in game models for those things.

I have already played it. EAT IT! It is an awesome game. I whole game is an change. I have to now learn to play the game all over again because of the changes they made to online vs. mode.

So I was watching G4 last night and XPlay had the GOW2 special.

Awesome, now I am stoked..... I love how it shows Marcus beating the shit out of a downed Horde soldier.

Plus the chainsaw to the back and then lift up looks like hours of fun in a couple of days.

I am assuming you work 3rd shift - lol it is a midnight launch! I will have to put Fallout 3 aside for a few weeks and really absorb in the Epic-ness of Gears. There is more storyline which is good. I mean I don't really need 8 hours of cinematics, but a little more storyline IMO would have made Gears 1 that much better.
