Building a system process, need some guidance with language choice

New D.I.C Head Joined: 15 Jun, 2007 Posts: 6 My Contributions	Hello, I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for language choices. I'm trying to build a system process, running on Windows Server 2k3. Basically I need the process to look at a MySQL db, perform a little file IO, and send a bunch of emails. I know that i'd like the process to be fast (definately faster than the MS Access one that's in place right now), and as painless as possible to develop ( still a junior ). The languages the first came to mind when I started planning this were C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ruby. I have at least a little experience with these languages, and am just looking for some opinions on which would be the best to choose and why. Cheers in advance
