Just found out CS4 is out now. Has anyone tried it? Just wondering how different it is to CS3, and if it's worth downloadingbuying.
Looking at screenshots, it doesn't look too different. I'm guessing it won't be a major change, since I've even used older versions and there's not too big a change.
I've read that CS4 is a bit faster, but that change alone isn't worth the time downloading money.
I'm not sure about getting CS4.. I'm pretty lazy in the respect that I will let a few versions flow by before I upgrade... Then again the latest photoshop is not a deal breaker for life... just for my side hobby of drawing..
I might downloadbuy it, just to try it out. I'm getting into graphics a lot more lately, and the company that I've got my second interview with tomorrow... oh shit that makes me nervous again now.
Anyway, they do web design and stuff, so it's best to get into it a bit more.
If I do get it, I'll let you know about the changes.
I have got the full Adobe CS4 Master Collection.. an I love it it's not a very huge difrence but... in Ps one big difrence is the way you can handle with 3D images... for example you can take any brush and just start to brush your 3D modell and so on.. in Dw one big update is that you can "try" your website "live" inside Dw, like testing al buttons and menues and so on, actually realy handy...
Yes! I am working on the CS4 Master Collection... and I have to say that I am liking the workspace options. I feel pretty comfortable working on designs, wireframes, html, etc... for projects, and the thing I run into a lot is having multiple files open and switching back and forth with copying and pasting, dragging and dropping, and opening and closing.. etc. CS4 seems to really put a focus on the organization of workspaces (multiple artboards in Illustrator, tabbed file organization in photoshop, relative files in dream weaver and vertical split screen in dreamweaver with live preview, etc) and that is a great time saver... and if you make money by the hour... then that means a pay increase!!! So, I would say it is worth it if that is what you're looking for.
The only thing I hear that is the real downfall is that since the guy from HP has entered the game with Adobe... color matching for printing in Photoshop has been a real problem and that a lot of designers that work with print photos and other related print work are going back to CS2... but I hear that 4 has improved in that area... I will find out soon I guess.
CS4 wants 1 GB of RAM, and I didn't remark big differences between CS3 and CS4...I just can't understand why this new suite from Adobe wants high "hardware resources"...
I'm not sure if I'll be downloading buying it, but I do know that if I do, a large portion of doing so will be to play with the bone tool in Flash. Seriously, that looks tight.
I will be getting it eventually, the biggest issue is college starting next year, and the cost... so it may take a while... I would love to get the newer version, at this point I am stuck with CS2, which is okay, but Illustrator and PS annoy me with the child windows (which InDesign took care of and allows you to dock with the main window, CS3 seems to have fixed a lot of the problem (from what I have seen at least) so, with any luck CS4 has solved it totally).
As for Flash, well I want to start making use of AS 3.0 and more importantly Air (which I could do in HTML, CSS, and JS, but it seems like it would be easier to just do it in Flash).
The RAM requirements being raised is very annoying. My laptop only allows for 2 GB (max) of RAM, and I am not sure about my PC... I need to update that too...
I used Photoshop back during version 7. I liked it, then I switched to GIMP. But, if I were using Photoshop still, I'd use a version that does everything I need and is still cheap .
In related news, my school recently bought CS4 (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, ?Soundbooth?, Fireworks[lol]). I rather wish they didn't waste their money, but oh well .
