Installing open Perl IDE, i know i did it wrong, but i cant find the information

ok so i just downloaded and installed Open Perl IDE to a folder on my desktop called perl. I run the .exe and i can do all my programming just fine, but i cant run anything because it cant find Perl.exe Does anyone know of a site that explains how to install it? or possibly where the darn .exe is being kept, because i pointed to the folder where i extracted the perl files to and it doesnt see it there.
