Ok so I have tried and tried to fix my router with no succsess (as I have already posted.), so I am now in the market for a new router. But which one should I get I can spend upto about £50, will be sharing it between 4 computers 3 desktops 1 laptop.

With the living patterns of the house hold there is more often then not someone online 24 hours a day. The bandwidth usage is extremely high with file transfers and online gaming so I need a router that is not going to fall over or cut out when there is multiple connections accsess in very different files (i.e. internet, p2p and gaming).

I've had a great experience with my Linksys WRT110 WiFi router.

4 Ethernet ports,plus 1 for Internet.
802.11G wireless.

Stood up to everything I've thrown at it.

I still use 10 mb switches in some situations. I have yet to find a networking device that doesn't handle traffic, like in the situation you've described. If you are just going to be on the internet, then you'll never pull more than 10mb through the wall (from your ISP), so any 10/100 should do you just fine smile.gif

Seriously, I know.
I bought a Linksys WRT54GL for 50$ last year.
I use it simultaneously with my PC, 2 Laptops, 3 Cell Phones and the XBOX 360 and it still works great.

If you're just planning on using it at home, don't spend too much, unless of course, you don't mind paying the extra dough. wink2.gif

I think I only paid 50 or 60 USD at Wal*Mart for my Linksys WRT110.

Not a BT Homehub AKA Thomson Speedtouch - truly terrible piece of plastic.
