The windows socket works with packets trafficing through the internet. A lot of hackers get into this type of stuff. And actually a lot of worms and viruses will hijack the winsock. They sniff for passwords and other personal information. Is this necessary? I mean what kind of a game is this. One that you are going to program. Also how long have you been programming in C++? I'm not trying to pick on you but the basics are important. So let us know what you are trying to do, that way we can help you out. Also post some code or show an illustrative example of what you had in mind.

New D.I.C Head Joined: 6 Jan, 2009 Posts: 5 Thanked: 1 times My Contributions	I am working with c++ around 3 years.But only concentrated the object oriented features.After studying the vast area of networking in java i am interested to do a simple network gaming using c++.It should be a multiplier game such that scores should be saved and hence a database is also a must.So i am planning database as mysql.Will you please suggest some good ebooks or tutorials.To which part of tutorial i have to go through first or is there any modification required from my opinion.I am new in the area of winsock pogramming,but know some basics of windows programming.
