Someone Has Control Of My Port

D.I.C Regular Joined: 11 Jul, 2002 Posts: 445	My external CD burner just suddenly started opening and closing at random times all on its own. I have thus disconnected it, but I fear that someone has control of my USB port? Is that possible? What else could it be? What should I do???

Dirty Technophile Joined: 13 Oct, 2001 Posts: 11,124 Thanked: 2 times Dream Kudos: 970 Expert In: Computer Networking, Web Development, Blogging My Contributions	its eather a issue within your cdrom and usb ( usb can be weird like that ) or it could be a virus , there are known virus's out there that open and close drives , if someone had control over something they would need to put a virus on your machine to take control , so what should you do ? get a virus scaning program and reinstall your usb cd

D.I.C Regular Joined: 11 Jul, 2002 Posts: 445	I have ran VirusScan and even that Panda Scan. It found nothing, but get this: I just came to my computer to find the burner humming loudly and the disc tray open. It looks like a piece broke off and it won't shut. It's broken. So if I can exchange it, do you think I should mention the opening/closing thing or what should I tell them exactly? I'm not even sure myself what happened.
