probably doom 3. i never jumped so much in my life. every door u open and every corner u turn, something jumps out and yells at u. its pretty intense. play it alone, in the dark, at night, surround system loud, and on a big tv. good time, guaranteed.
and fear effect was pretty creepy too if anyone remembers that one. it was on psOne

There's something about System Shock 2 that I found exceptionally creepy. And it did it mostly without the cheap trick of just having stuff jump out at you.
For atmosphere I think some of the vaults in Fallout 3 were creepy as hell. vault 87 I think it is the radiation one where you meet Fawkes - I was kinda hesitant about going in there.
The clone vault would have been intimidating as well if Fawkes wasn't with me cleaning house.

I need to get back into finishing this game. Never made it to 87 yet.

omg I started playing it again. Engrossed is an understatement. Twas midnight before i finally turned it off.
I am waiting for the DLC and I will probably start over again. I have been engrossed in Fable 2 lately but I only rented it so I need to return it and come back to it later.
I use linux are you sure you quoted the right person. I was responding to KYA's post in regards to paying for upgrades & DLC on Windows live etc..,
At work I use Avast - I had to disable BitDefender on numerous computers because of slowing down systems. Once I installed Avast the computers sped up two fold.
