Regular Expressions, A possibility....

I'm pretty good with a laser mouse.. Joined: 8 May, 2008 Posts: 957 Thanked: 6 times Dream Kudos: 125 My Contributions	I notice that there are tutorials in PHP explaining what they are, and how to use them. But have you ever thought of maybe having a snippet section or something, fully devoted to regular expressions? I know it's not a programming language per-say, but I do think that it is a relative, and very useful tool. I don't know.. Maybe not. This may have already come up in the past, but I didn't come up with anything with my searches. What do you think?

You can get away with some of the more basic expressions, but not all expressions work in all languages.

We could just instruct people who submit snippets to put the language name in the title of their snippet. It saves the hassle of looking for a snippet that matches the language you are using.

Especially because I've been programming for 8 years and still to this day can't figure out how to create a regular expression on my own. Unless it is a very basic expression, 99% of the time I just copy it from somewhere on the web and edit it to my needs.
